Helsche Boosheit, Vol.1: The Church Service

During Roze Zaterdag 2024 (22/06/2024), MONSTER ARCHIEF presented a queer church service at the Pelstergasthuiskerk (Groningen, NL) featuring artists Milly, Doris Gemini, and Sofía Murillo Lommers. They performed in response to the homophobic book 'Helsche Boosheit' by preacher Henricus Carolinus van Byler from 1731. The service dealt with themes of religion, homosexuality, violence, and healing. Together we reflected on a Groninger history of homophobic violence and the role of the church.
